Q. Will I need an armourer on my film shoot?
If you plan on using any imitation weapon that depicts, looks like, resembles or has the appearance of, then the answer is YES, you will require a licensed armourer to oversee supervision of the firearm whilst in use.
Q. Can I use my friend who hold a gun license in NSW to supervise a weapon on my production?

Q. I have a diecast or toy cap gun, how come I still need an armourer on set?
Even though you are only using a cap gun, legislation in NSW does state that regardless of colour, shape, size or markings; any weapon that resembles, imitates or can be mistaken for a real firearm is considered prohibited and therefore requires a theatrical armourer on set to supervise the use.
Q. Can I make my weapons out of wood/metal or print them up on a 3D printer?
Of course you can, however the same legislation will still apply. If those weapons resembles, imitates or can be mistaken for a real firearm then you will need to engage a licensed armourer to supervise the use of them.
Q. Do you sell replica weapons, diecast cap guns or blank weapons to the general public?
We do sell these weapons, but only if you have a valid NSW permit for prohibited weapons, otherwise the answer is no, we don't sell them to the general public.
Q. I'm a collector, can I purchase off you guys?
Sure thing! Just get a prohibited weapons permit or license, flick a copy through to our operations team and we'll be happy to process this for you; but if you don't have one, then unfortunately the answer is NO!
Q. I need an armourer for a really small amount of time, are you guys able to do this for us?
Most bookings are usually booked as a 4 hour minimum turnaround for our armourer shoots, however for individual requests contact our operations team and put a request in, you never know what we might be able to arrange for you.
Q. Are there any restrictions on your armourer services?
In some circumstances, yes; limitations might be imposed around our armourer services if there are any high risk activities involved in your requests such as working in or around water, on the beach or near sand or if there is anything that requires dropping, throwing, sliding or hitting of the firearm in use.
Q. I'm a student/ independent /self funded film maker, do you offer discounts?
Our prices are already significantly discounted and our rates are based on student and independent films, so you've already been quoted the best possible price. However, if you do happen to find another organisation who can beat our quote, as per our price match guarantee; we will beat it by a further 10%
Q. What is the security/insurance deposit for on your armourer services?
The security deposit is considered to be your bond. If one of the weapons in use are broken whilst on set,then repair costs are deducted from this bond to allow us to repair the cost to the weapon. If the weapon however, is returned back to our armourer in the same working order than your deposit/bond is returned in full (or credited back to your nominated bank acocunt).
Q. Can I come and check out the look of the weapon prior to the principal day of shooting?
Absolutely, we are happy to schedule a viewing session for our replica weapons, in fact we strongly encourage it! Just speak to one of our operations team and they can put you in touch with our armourers who can arrange this.
